The lever arm device for generators, ships and suchlike has a lever arm (3) mounted on a gear ring (1) and exerts a circular movement in the horizontal direction. A number of gear rings may be connected by an endless chain (49), and the lever arms are mounted on bearings (12,36). With one gear ring the spacing of bearings is shorter than with another configuration of gear ring. A cable (25) with a turnbuckle connects two lever arms.
