The device (10) is assembled of an inner and an outer pipe (11), each of them fitted with a soft concave shell (12, 13) at its outer end. The inner pipe can be axially moved inside the outer pipe and secured in the appropriate position with a rotating sleeve. A leg or an arm of a patient not able to move it into the required position can be laid on one of the shells (12, 13) and pushed away from the body in order to facilitate the nurse or the doctor to wash or check the area in the resulting gap.
