The connector (10) for the connecting of a first profiled rod (30) to a second (32) is constructed from two identical clamping components (12), both of which in the assembled state have on opposite ends to one another oppositely disposed in pairs, interacting tong heads (20) for the form-locking gripping around of the undercut side walls (36) of outer protrusions (34) on the first profiled rod. The tong heads are fitted on first and second profiled rods, of which at least one on its outer side has at least two adjacent outer protrusions extending in the longitudinal direction.
