Recessing tool comprises a holder (1) and an exchangeable insert (5) with a cutting edge (12) running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the holder. The exchangeable insert has an undercut clamping section (7) with a cross-section corresponding to the cross-section of the holder. The clamping section is radially centered by a fixing pin (14) in an engaging manner in a complementary undercut holding pocket (2) of the holder, which is closed on only two sides, and is held by a clamping claw or screw (15). Preferred Features: The fixing pin is soldered, screwed or pressed into a transverse bore in the front end of the holder.
