The holder (10) a cutting insert (13) exchangeably inserted into a cutting plate seat. A clamping bolt (12) clamps the cutting insert against lateral contact surfaces of the cutting insert. A clamping bracket (14) acting at an upper side (131) of the cutting insert vertically clamps the cutting insert. The clamping bracket has a shaft with a cam-like laterally arranged projection (144), which is guided into a recess (115) in the holder upto a stop during clamp actuation of the clamping bracket.
