The refrigerator has a thermally insulating housing (1,2) and at least one housing door (13) for accessing the food storage compartment, at least part of the front surface of the door made of a transparent material, e.g. an insulating glass panel (14) enclosed by a metal frame with an attached handle (15). The housing door can be fitted with a furniture door for matching fitted kitchen furniture, also provided with a transparent section in its front surface.
