The circuit breaker switch has a bimetallic element (3) supported in the switch housing via a bimetallic support (4), made of a compensatory bimetallic material, which flexes in the opposite direction to the bimetallic element and is connected in series with the latter in the switch current path. The bimetallic element can be provided by a right angle bimetallic strip, fixed to the bimetallic support via one arm (20).
