A forming tool is at the free end of a piston rod (20) of a piston and cylinder unit (12) or an extension (24) of the piston rod. Piston rod actuation moves the working face onto the workpiece face. An adjacent nozzle (30) and a hot air supply line (32) are on a holder (28) which, when the piston is retracted, aligns the nozzle towards the workpiece in front of the forming tool. The hot air nozzle holder (28) swivels on the holder (14) of the piston and cylinder unit (12). Both holders have a guide system which swivels the nozzle out of the path of the forming tool when the piston rod (20) is actuated. Guide members comprise a component with a control groove (36) on the nozzle holder and a follower (40) on a support (34) connected to the piston rod which engages in the groove. The forming tool (26) has a concave recess on its working surface. A switch arrangement interrupts or switches off the hot air supply as the piston rod moves forwards.
