The braces to be attached to a row of teeth (1) in order to correct their position is assembled of a number of brackets (2) to be temporarily glued to the front of the teeth (1) and a wire guided around the brackets (2). Each of the brackets (2) is provided with a slot (5) at the front for the accommodation of the wire. The particular slot (5) forms one right angle and two obtuse angles with its inner surface facilitating a matching wire to pull at the teeth (1) without any loss of torque.
