An earth spike for posts, masts, clothes driers etc, has a one piece plastic moulding with a narrow central spike (16) with a pointed tip (20) and surrounded by a flat blades tapering spiral thread (18). The top of the spiral runs into a flat disc (12) which is pressed onto the ground and which is topped by a cylindrical socket (10) to hold the post. The flat form spiral and narrow central spike displace a minimum of soil and provide a secure grip with long lasting support.
