Applicator gun for cartridge loaded compounds with a semi rigid drive element which is looped around a drive wheel and which pushes a piston into the rear of the cartridge

An applicator gun for a cartridge loaded compound, e.g. sealant, adhesive, bonding compound etc., has the cartridge held in a support and the a piston grip control to push a piston into the back of the cartridge. The piston is pushed by a semi rigid thrust element which is looped over a drive wheel in the rear of the applicator and which is rigid when compressed. The loose end of the thrust element has a sliding fit in the base of the cartridge support. The applicator can be manual or servo with a piston grip control. Possible servo drives include electric, hydraulic and pneumatic drives, with the handgrip (16) containing a battery, a gas bottle or a hydraulic pressure element.
