The ergonomically formed handlebar grip has a preformed body in which is provided a finger grip construction with corresponding ridges (B,C,D) or recesses for the fingers and ball of the thumb, and a fastening device to fit the grip on or in the region of the handlebar end. The preformed body comprises a relatively hard or solid core of metal or plastic or rubber, and which is enclosed at least partially or completely by a relatively soft or elastic cover which on its top surface has the ridges of the finger grip construction.
