The measuring and control system has two buttons (Knopf1, Knopf2). The first button may be pressed once to activate the memory and may be pressed a second time to deactivate the memory. The electronic circuit includes a clock, alarm module, and a computer which can calculate the amount of water to be dispensed. A first display (A) may show how much water is available or should be drunk in diagrammatic form. A second display (B) may give a figure for the daily water ration (Wert I), a figure for the amount of water already used (Wert II), and the amount available or recommended for drinking at given drinking times (Wert III).
