During the installation of ceiling panels e.g. plasterboard against a roof structure with transverse beams, the beams are first fitted with an installation batten (1). The batten is a rail with an elongated slit (3) for a sliding plug (5) fixture. The plug accommodates a screw which holds the rail to the roof beam. The rail is made of plastic, metal or wood.
