The vertical rod may be made in sections, screwed together to adjust the height of the loop. There is a first 90 degrees bend at the top of the rod, with a short straight horizontal portion and a second 90 degrees bend at the start of the circular loop. The loop encircles the trunk of the tree and ends with a third 90 degree bend and a short straight inward-facing portion. Some of the branches are held up by the support. Several supports of different height may be fitted. Typically, the rod may be 30 cm long and 2.5 mm thick. The loop is 10 cm in diameter, and the straight inward-facing end is 2 cm long.
