The mounting (1) for an articulated arm (2) of an articulated arm awning has a support component (10) for fastening to a wall, and a bearing bracket (11) connected to the support component. Between the support component and bearing bracket is a layer (12) of plastic or rubber material which increases the friction between the parts when the support component and bearing bracket are rigidly interconnected. The layer is of such hardness that it deforms under the forces encountered in the rigid interconnection. An independent claim is included for an articulated arm awning equipped with the proposed articulated arm mounting.
