The metal sheets (1) to be transported have two inwardly curved edges with two successive sharp 90 degree bends. The sheets may be stacked one above the other and several stacks may be formed side-by-side. Spacer blocks (3) are placed at the corners of the metal sheets and are made of resilient blocks of felted fibrous material, with a layer of adhesive on one side to stick to e.g. the inwardly curved edges of the sheet.
