A housing chamber (6) enclosing an annular flushing chamber (26) is arranged on the drive end of the central flange (3a), coaxial to the rotation axis (A) of the rotary pump. The housing chamber (6) is sealed from the flange by a fourth sealing ring (24) and associated flat face (3e) of the flange (3a). A first static sealing ring (10) is positioned between the sealing point (3e,24) and the product-loaded space (3c) arranged within the flange (3a) to take the slide ring seal (7). The sealing ring (10) sits between the central flange part (3a) and a static slide ring (8) on the pump side. The flushing chamber (26) communicates with the pump surround through feed and bleed bores (6a,6b) diametrical to one another within the housing chamber (6).
