The device has a substantially U-shaped holding element intended to hold at least the lid part (3) of the bottle carrier (1). The holding element has a pressure plate with recess for the bottle necks (2c) and the carrying handle (14). Side walls (21) extend down from the pressure plate and a stop plate which is mounted above the pressure plate and has an opening for the carrying handle covers the recess at least in part.
