Signal transmitter (11), receiver (12) and optional sections of the signal transmission lines (13, 17) are embedded for repeated and hygienic use, in an additional planar support layer (14). This comprises a flexible material which can be disinfected, and which does not detract from the measurements. It is constructed for contact against the relevant body part (18) during measurement, matching its curvature.
