The rubbish bin (1) may be square in plan view, with an outwardly-extending flange at the top and a flat bottom. The frame (4) for holding and dispensing the bags rests on the bottom of the bin. It consists of a wire or rod bent into a flat oval shape with horizontal end portions (2,2') raised above the bottom of the bin and parallel to each other. The first of the horizontal end portions is slightly higher up than the other and accommodates a roll of plastics bags (3). Each individual bag (5) may be torn off from the next bag by a line of perforations. Its open end may be spread over the flange at the top of the bin to hold the bag open to receive rubbish. The bags pass under the second horizontal end portion of the frame as they are pulled off the roll.
