Shoulder and arm support garment made of stretchable fabric, comprising (A) a portion having a strong straining force (31) which, in the back part of the garment, ranges from the edge of the acromion side of the upper region of the trapezius muscle of the human body (2) to the vicinity of the lower costa in the opposite side body (5) by way of the vicinity of angulus superior scapulae (3) and the vicinity of any of the vertebrae thoracicae @ to vertebrae thoracicae @ (4), and (B) a portion having a strong straining force (32) which, in the front part of the garment, ranges from the vicinity of the portion corresponding to the muscles deltoideus distalis (6) to the vicinity of the upper end portion (10) of the shirt, which is located slightly near to the body side from the open portion for neck, through the vicinity of the edge of the portion corresponding to the muscles deltoideus, and which, in the back part of said garment, ranges from the vicinity of the portion corresponding to the muscles deltoideus distalis (6) to the portion between the portion corresponding to the vertebrae cervicales @ and the portion corresponding to vertebrae thoracicae @ (8) by way of the vicinity of the edge of the portion corresponding to the muscles deltoideus (7) and further extends from this portion in opposite directions similarly with right - left symmetry. The garment of the present invention is a shoulder and arm support garment that is effective for promoting the prevention and treatment of disorders in the shoulder joint or the muscles in this vicinity and which can easily and appropriately be put on and taken off by the ordinary people.
