The underwater breathing device comprises a breathing mouth (1) and two valves (2a,2b) communicating with a flexible lung (4). There is a system for compensation of the gas metabolized by the diver consisting of a compressed gas tank (9) with an injection system (13) into the breathing circuit. Filtering of and recycling exhaled gas is through two filtering half-cartridges (3a,3b).
