Cosmetic composition comprises a hydroperoxide-oxidizable active ingredient, a lipoxygenase enzyme and a substrate for the enzyme. Independent claims are also included for: (1) cosmetic treatment by applying the above composition to the zone to be treated; (2) dyeing keratinic fibers by applying the above composition until the desired color develops; (3) aerosol device comprising the above composition in one compartment and oxidizing agent other than atmospheric oxygen in another compartment.
