Autonomous device (1) for the receipt and supply of coins and banknotes and for the sorting and counting thereof. The device is coupled to a computer system (3) and has means for receipt and sorting of coins and means for receipt and sorting of notes. The receipt and sorting means then connect to storage means for the storage of sorted notes and coins. At least a part of the stored notes and coins are available for redistribution.
