The auto adaptive floating anchor section has an envelope (22) towed by a cable (23) connected by individual strands (24). There is a flexible rear opening plate assembly section (20,21) which is closed in the rest state, but opens out under the effect of water current progressively with speed, thus progressively reducing the drag coefficient.
