A bone implant is designed by generating three-dimensional data of a bone based on pieces of bone tomographic data, and estimating the shape of bone which should exist at a missing portion (101) using part of the three-dimensional data corresponding to a symmetrical part of the missing portion. An Independent claim is also included for formation of a bone implant based on the inventive designing method by depositing a layer of powdered ingredient material, and applying a reactant liquid to the powdered layer to harden the ingredient material according to the shape of designed implant, and repeating the preceding steps to stack layers of powdered ingredient material to produce the implant.
