A method of covering a simple or complex electrically conductive or semiconductive surface with an organic film deriving from one or more precursors of the film by electroinitiated grafting The grafting is effected by applying to the surface a potential sweep carried out in such a way that the maximum potential of each sweep in absolute value and in relation to a reference electrode is greater than or equal to the potential value (Vblock) starting from which the curves of a graphic expressing the quantity of electrografted precursor on an identical surface as a function of the number of potential sweeps overlap and are independent of Vblock. An Independent claim is included for a covering obtained by the method.
