The supply circuit has an inverter (5) to excite a permanent magnet brushless drive motor (1) and a control circuit (4) to drive the inverter. The control circuit is activated in response to the measured (12) supply voltage to the motor. A relay (10) and a regeneration resistance (11) are used to stabilize the voltage, with the relay controlled by the control circuit (4).
