Electroluminescent diode with a stacked structure comprises (a) a substrate layer (10); (b) at least one anode layer (11,18); (c) at least one layer for the injection of holes (12,18); (d) a layer for the transport of holes (13); (e) a light emitting layer (14); (f) a layer for the transport of electrons (15); (g) a cathode layer (16). It includes at least one layer (11) of an inorganic material arranged between the substrate layer and the light emitting layer and incorporating printed, on its surface, a periodic structure with the scale of the wavelength emitted by the light emitting layer. Independent claims are also included for: (i) a support for the fabrication of such a diode; (ii) a method for generating a periodic microstructure with the scale of the wavelength of the emitting layer of an electroluminescent diode; (iii) a method for the fabrication of an electroluminescent diode.
