The hip articulation component comprises an acetabular cup (1) able to be fixed in the hip bone and a hemispherical insert (2) which is inserted in the cup to make a ball joint surface for the femur head. The insert comprises on its external surface in the axis of the top of its interior hemispherical surface an axial guide rod (4), a part of which forms a centering piece. The insert has an appendix (3) at its top to supply a fixing for the centering piece. The rod is made in a biodegradable material and the acetabular cup is formed with a polar hole to allow passage of the guide rod.
