Basic module for a miniature fuel cell comprises a substrate (1) incorporating a relief and a stack of at least three layers on the relief, arranged one on the other to constitute an anode (11), an electrolyte (12) and a cathode (13) of the module. The substrate is a solid piece that is porous and permeable to gas, at least in the parts in contact with the anode. The relief of the substrate may be made up of cones, tubes, spheres, parallelepipeds, cylinders or holes. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the fabrication of this basic module for a miniature fuel cell.
