Infinitely variable mechanical power transmission with electric control, uses supplementary epicyclic train in series with one of the two parallel drive trains to increase the number of operating modes
The transmission has two paths between engine and wheels, comprising epicyclic gear trains, electric machines and a reduction gear. A third epicyclic gear train (47) in series with one of the epicyclic gears (45,46) in the transmission paths cooperates with the controller (48,50) to ensure that all the elements (c,p,s) of the third train turn at the same speed.
