The transmission has constituent units that are distributed between two power lines connecting a thermal engine (1) to wheels (3) of a vehicle. Two electrical machines are separated by an epicyclic train (7). The engine, the wheels and the machines are connected to a reduction stage (11). The train coordinates with two control units (8, 9) to establish two operating modes for the transmission and to switch between the modes.
