A cylindrical hollow casing includes a porcelain insulator that contains the detection element, the base of which projects from one end. The detection part projects from the second end of the casing. A cap is in the atmospheric air, at one end of the case. Another porcelain insulator on the air side is against the other insulator. A cap on the gas measurement side covers the detection part of the element. The cylindrical hollow casing (10) includes a porcelain insulator (12) within it, on the gas side. The insulator contains the detection element (19), the base of which projects from one end. The detection part projects from the second end of the casing. The cap (21) is in the atmospheric air, at one end of the case. A porcelain insulator (13) on the air side is against the other insulator (12). A thread (104) on the casing sidewall forms an attachment in the sensor mounting. A cap (2) on the gas measurement side is connected to the second end, and covers the detection part of the element. A joint connects the sensor cap to the second end. This is nearer to the first end of the casing than the upper end of the thread. The casing has an opening in its second end and a recess for installation of the cap on the gas measurement side. This cap includes an open end for this purpose. A further cap, made of the same material as the casing, is on the open end of the measurement-end cap. This provides a fixed cover for the installation recess. The casing has a double wall, with internal and external cylinders. Between themselves, they hold the open end of the cap on the gas measurement side.
