The process involves determining whether a functioning speed of a vehicle or a position of an acceleration pedal is constant inside a tolerance area of preset speed or preset pedal, during a preset time interval T. The functioning speed is taken as a speed set point of speed regulator if the speed is constant and pedal position is reduced. The speed and distance regulation are set on speed and distance set points. An Independent claim is also included for a device to control speed regulation and/or distance regulation of an automobile vehicle.
