Device comprising an electron donor structure comprising a conjugated polymer and an electron acceptor stucture comprising a pigment complexed or adsorbed on nanotubes is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) production of the device by forming a structure that functions as an electron acceptor stucture as above; (2) photovoltaic cell comprising the device; (3) production of electricity from an electromagnetic wave by using the device to effect photovoltaic conversion; (4) production of electricity from an electromagnetic wave by contacting the photovoltaic cell with an electromagnetic wave and generating electricity from the cell.
