The device has a motorized cylinder (2) having outer surface coating that partially absorbs, and is partially transparent to, light from a fixed external source (1), and an inner surface coating of crumpled aluminum paper. Protruding reflective units (3) are tangentially fixed on the outer surface of the cylinder. A visual screen (6) is placed in front of the light source for receiving the light and providing the illusion of bright flames as well as a moving heat halo effect. The protruding reflective units have an extended form, are pointed at both ends, and are oriented in the direction of rotation of the cylinder.
