Plasma arc cutting of a metal component uses a torch with a double flow of gas and is equipped with an electrode with an emissive insert. The torch delivers a central flow of gas and a peripheral annular flow of gas. The central flow of gas contains a mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen and the peripheral flow of gas contains carbon dioxide. An independent claim is also included for an installation for the plasma arc cutting of metal components.
