The antenna is connected to the unit (3) to allow the detection of perturbation of functional characteristics of the antenna, in a user presence detection mode. The antenna is connected to the unit (4) to send a radio frequency interrogation signal to a portable identification device, in a hands-free interrogation mode. The device detects the presence of a user carrying the portable identification device in the detection mode. An independent claim is also included for a handle casement of a vehicle, having a transmission and/or reception device.
