Signal processing procedure for use in digital radio communication receiver, involves selecting maximum propagation paths based on criterion selected according to energy distribution data in propagation channel profile

The procedure involves finding a propagation profile of a propagation channel between a transmitter and a receiver. Information symbols carried by a signal from the transmitter are estimated by applying a process taking preset maximum propagation paths into account, to the signal. The paths are selected by a selection module (5), based on a criterion selected according to data related to energy distribution in the profile. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a digital radio communication receiver with spread spectrum (b) a computer program loadable in a memory associated to a processor and having instruction for implementing a signal processing procedure (c) an information storage media on which the program is stored to implement the signal processing procedure.
