The device has an image analysis and video signal processing device (17) determining a real pattern of an ophthalmic object projected in a plane of a support (1), from a video signal representative of an image of the object obtained from a video camera. The device (17) provides an analysis signal representative of the pattern to a monitor (21). A display screen (23) of the monitor displays the pattern in the form of lines. An independent claim is also included for a method for analyzing video image implemented in a device for acquiring and displaying geometric data of an ophthalmic object.
