PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resistance welding method for different kinds of materials, a method that can use existing welding equipment, that is excellent in continuous spot welding, and that can reduce maintenance frequency of an electrode, and also to provide a resistance welding member of aluminum alloy materials and different kinds of materials. PSOLUTION: The resistance welding method for different kinds of materials is for welding iron 10 and an aluminum alloy 1. At least to a part of the aluminum alloy 1 for resistance welding to be performed, there is preliminarily applied a coating treatment with iron or an iron-based alloy to form surface layers 2, 3, through which resistance welding is performed for the iron 10 and the aluminum alloy 1.
