PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of designing a nursing care building for elderly people, the building providing safe use thereof and habitation therein for elderly people, and structurally contributing to delay of worsening of disorders such as dementia. PSOLUTION: According to the method of designing the nursing care building 1 for elderly people, in the nursing care building 1, each of rooms including habitable rooms 24 and toilet rooms 25 which the elderly people use, has a sliding door 32. The sliding door is arranged outside the room, for opening/closing an entrance of the room, and has a small window 33 formed therein, at a height of 170 to 190 cm above a floor surface.
