METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR MONITORING AND PROTECTING PRIVATE NETWORK AGAINST ATTACK FROM PUBLIC NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for monitoring and protecting a network (1) against an attack from a public network, especially from the Internet (6).;SOLUTION: The network includes a firewall (5) and an attack detection system (7) on the protection side of the firewall. The attack detection system (7)inspects data packets passing the firewall (5), when detecting a data packet representing the attack, installs policy in the firewall (5). Regarding high flexibility and prompt adaptability to changing attacking state, this method is characterized in that the firewall (5) is set by the attack detection system (7) so that information regarding the data packet representing the attack is provided in the attack detection system (7) or a system in cooperation with the attack detection system for further analysis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
