PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display which prevents image contrast from dropping by eliminating irregular reflection of incident light.;SOLUTION: This is an electro-optical device having pixels arranged in matrix, and has a substrate or an insulation film which has a flat surface buried with a light shading material in the grooves formed on the light shading layer to shade the incident light to the electro-optical device.
