PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card with the functions of commuter pass, as well as which prevents existence of duplication of the commuter pass function prior to expiration dates for both features.;SOLUTION: When an existing "SUICA(R)" commuter pass and non-active card are inserted into a POS terminal 13 (S1d), the POS terminal 13 makes reference to an ID administrative station server 21 about the information of the pass and card (S2d), and an ID administrative center server 22 makes verification (S3d). If this is verified, the POS terminal 13 activates the non-active card, and the SUICA commuter pass is invalided (S4d). The amount of deposit stored in the SUICA commuter pass is refunded to a user, and the invalidated SUICA commuter pass is collected (S5d). Activated SUICA commuter pass is given to the user through the POS terminal 13(S7d). The SUICA commuter pass can be activated, to be used as a credit card.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
