PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting-off apparatus which can cut off the web of a material with high cutting-off quality and can easily be maintained.;SOLUTION: The cutting-off apparatus has a rotatable cutting-off cylinder 8. The cutting-off cylinder has at least one first cutter 4 on the outer periphery 9 thereof. This cutter cuts off the web 12 of the material in its lateral direction in cooperation with a fixed second cutter 5. At least one of the two cutters 4, 5 is formed to be self-elastic.
