PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing the reclaimed expandable styrenic resin spherical particle from the expanded styrenic resin molded article by using stretched pellets produced with the widestly applied strand-type extruder.;SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing reclaimed expandable styrenic resin particles comprises the steps of crushing the reclaimed styrenic resin pellets with a dimensional shrinkage in the stretching direction of less than 50 % to thereby produce the reclaimed styrenic resin particles having the particle diameter of 0.2 mm to 2.5 mm, suspending these styrenic resin particles as the nuclei in an aqueous medium, impregnating a polymerization initiator and a styrenic monomer into the above reclaimed styrenic particles, and carrying out the polymerization with adding the monomer additionally, and then impregnating a foaming agent at an impregnating temperature of higher than 100 °C, with a ratio of the reclaimed styrenic resin particles relative to the reclaimed expandable styrenic resin particles being 70 % or less.
