METHOD FOR ADJUSTING REMAINING PIG IRON AND SLAG LEVEL IN MAIN TROUGH FOR BLAST FURNACE AND MEMBER FOR REMOVING MOLTEN PIG IRON AND SLAG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting remaining molten pig iron and slag level in a main trough for blast furnace and a member for removing the molten pig iron and slag which enable the level of a metal line to be lowered without spending time and labor having conventionally been necessary in the main trough for blast furnace.;SOLUTION: In a conventional method for reducing the level of the remaining molten pig iron and slag surface in the main trough, after completing the tapping work for molten pig iron in the blast furnace, a part of the remaining pig iron and slag being the molten pig iron and slag left in the main trough 4 for blast furnace is exhausted. This method is improved and the improved method comprises: descending the member 18 for removing the molten pig iron and slag and dipping it into the remaining molten pig iron and slag from above; over-flowing the amounts of the molten pig iron and the molten slag corresponding to this dipping volume into a molten pig iron trough 5 and a molten slag trough, respectively; and ascending the member for removing the molten pig iron and slag.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
